SAFETY AWARENESS IN NATIONAL PARKS

I want to bring to everyone's attention that safety is NOT guaranteed in any African National park rest camp. It is up to you to be vigilant and keep your kids close. In South Africa most rest amps have electrified fences which are no more than a deterrent. Elephants regularly damage fences as do falling trees. If you see any damage please report to the camp authorities immediately. Please keep in mind that you are dealing with wild animals and things can go pear shaped very quickly if you do not stick to the rules. Please be sure to talk to your guide if you have any doubts. Better safe than sorry. Just to prove my point below find pictures of a full grown male leopard negotiating an electrified fence in the Kruger National Park.
